At this time, SafeNeedleDisposal.org knows of three community-sponsored sharps disposal programs in Oklahoma, which serve residents of Durant, Midwest City and Norman. A six-month pilot program, providing free sharps disposal and sharps containers for residents, has been implemented in certain areas by the Product Stewardship Institute (PSI) and the Oklahoma Meds and Sharps Disposal Committee, with support from the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality (ODEQ).
