Sharps must be placed in a designated sharps container or non-penetrable container (like a detergent bottle) with a 1:3 ratio of bleach solution. Once the container is full, shake it so that all of the needles are rinsed by the bleach solution. Then empty out all the liquids and seal the container with duct tape.
