Notes: The Costa Mesa Sanitary District sponsors a free door-to-door HHW Collection Program to qualifying residents. Residents are eligible for three HHW pickups per year. Each pickup has a maximum limit of 15 gallons or 125 lbs of HHW. CMSD's trash hauler, CR&R, carries out the service. No business or healthcare facility medical waste will be accepted.
To schedule a pickup, call CR&R Customer Service at 949-646-4617, Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm. Pickups can also be scheduled online through the law Services Requests feature. Select "Trash">"Household Hazardous Waste">enter your address and the list of items that you would like collected, and provide your contact information. You wlll be notified of your scheduled pickup date through your preferred method of contact. Must be a resident in the Costa Mesa Sanitary District. Residents who use dumpsters at their property are not eligible for this program.
It is against the law in the state of California to dispose of sharps in the household trash.
