Notes: It is recommended that sharps be placed in a 1.4 quart sharps container purchased from a pharmacy. Other alternative containers must be leak proof, rigid, puncture-resistant, labeled with a biohazard symbol or the words "SHARPS", no larger than 1.4 quart in size.
