Sharps can be placed in a sharps container or a puncture resistant plastic container, such as a detergent bottle. Screw cap on and tape cap. Write "SHARPS" on the container.
Hospitals and nursing homes in New York State are mandated by law to accept properly contained, home-generated sharps.
